Face à cette vindicte populaire - qui a même poussé certains à créer une pétition en ligne -, les créateurs Craig Thomas et Carter Bays avaient indiqué qu'une fin alternative avait été tournée en parallèle, avec laquelle ils ont longuement hésité.
